To get to the shortline you went up a hill just past the ccrr cc station, across a suspension bridge to the small platform station. The only monorail station was in the contemporary carolinas section as seen in the photo above and below. The speedway ride shared the same building as the monorail.
The Seating Capacity Has Been Expanded Several Times Over The Years.
The first expansion increased the seating capacity to 8,200, then to 9,000 seats and the final and current capacity seats just over 13,000 as seen in the current photo below. Although the park had lost the c & c rr by then, it still had that good feeling to it. I did not visit the park until this season, but ever since i was a kid i have been curious about it.
For Some Reason The Monorail Has Not Been Reassembled And Although Doubtful, May Still Be In Storage, Some 19 Years Later.
